History
Balinese dreams
What began as a dream between two hearts grew into a vision strong enough to cross the ocean. Inspired by Bali’s raw beauty, calm, and vibrant energy, we longed to bring that feeling to our second home, Curaçao: a wild idea where Balinese design meets Caribbean rhythm.
With architect Alexis Dornier and our own Studio Aya, we embarked on a three-year journey. Dreams aren’t meant to be easy; they are meant to challenge you, transform you, and reward you with something more than just bricks and beams.
Now, standing proudly against Curaçao’s golden sunsets, our villa is a living testament to love, patience, design, and the belief that life is meant to be truly lived.

Design
Sculptural concrete
Villa Aya was designed by Bali-based architect Alexis Dornier. His internationally recognized portfolio is frequently featured in leading architecture and design magazines, including the cover of ELLE Decoration Italia. His signature style is highly innovative, defined by organic forms and a harmonious connection with the natural environment.
These qualities are perfectly embodied in the design of Villa Aya. The architecture strikes a perfect balance between natural teak wood, hard, clean edges, and the gentle curves of warm-toned concrete that glows at night, creating a look that breathes with its surroundings.
Studio Aya designed the interiors with a mix of custom Balinese teak, vintage pieces, Balinese stone, and richly pigmented limewash, creating spaces with a unique character and soul.

Perched above the vibrant coastline of Curaçao, Villa Aya offers 180° panoramic ocean views and front-row seats to spectacular, multicolored sunsets.
Just a 10-minute walk from the beach, gym, boutiques, spa, supermarket, restaurants, and beach clubs. The villa is located in the peaceful and secure residential area of Vista Royal, within the much-loved Jan Thiel neighborhood.
This upscale neighborhood blends the laid-back rhythm of island life with the convenience of high-end amenities.
Jan Thiel Beach is known for its soft white-sand beach, calm turquoise waters, and vibrant yet relaxed atmosphere. The beach clubs have their own rhythm: from morning coffee to sunset cocktails, live music, and happy hours that carry the day into the night.

5 Luxurious Bedrooms
All uniquely styled in rich, deep colors with handmade teak furniture. 4 are in the main building with direct access to the courtyard or terraces (2 with partial sea views). The 5th is located in the courtyard.
Open-Concept Kitchen
The large, organically shaped kitchen island with high-end appliances and breakfast bar overlooks the pool and sea. The fully equipped kitchen includes a fresh bean coffee machine for perfect cappuccinos.
Central Courtyard
Through a Balinese teakwood door, you enter the courtyard with tropical plants and a graceful palm tree. It’s the tranquil heart of the villa, perfect for quiet mornings or yoga.
Pool with Ocean View
The pool features a shallow lounging zone, in-water bar stools, and a finish of emerald green and blue Balinese Sukabumi stone that gives the water a luminous shimmer.
Family-friendly retreat
Villa Aya is thoughtfully designed with families in mind, offering optional high chairs, travel cribs and a stair gate. There are blackout curtains in every bedroom and an elevated pool for added peace of mind.

The pool is inlaid with Balinese Sukabumi stone whose natural filtering qualities help maintain clearer, softer water with less chlorine. This makes every swim feel clean and refreshing.
Dedicated workspace
For those combining work and leisure, a quiet workspace is set up in the courtyard’s bedroom. However, the ultimate workspace might just be found at the kitchen island or dining table with an ocean view.
